Jaundice cases surface in Deobhog; patients rushed to CHC

After Raipur, the jaundice outbreak has now been reported from Deobhog area.

The reports from the area indicate at least one woman and a few children have been effected by the disease.

The health setup swung into action and the affected were rushed to the local community health centre.

It is said that the affected were suffering from headache and fever over past few days and now the medical reports have confirmed them to have jaundice.

The health setup of the area has also promised that they would soon institute health camp to be able to ascertain more such patients.

There would also be carried out a sanitation drive in the area so that others may not get affected.

The suspicion is that the children may have contracted the disease after they consumed the infected water of the area.

Village sources said that the vicinity of the handpumps are littered with garbage all over and this may be the reason why the water could have got infected.
