Everyone was shocked today morning (July 20) after finding out about Kangana Ranaut‘s serious head injury. The actress was shooting for an intense sword fighting scene for Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi when she got injured. Apparently, she was engaging in an fierce battle with her co-star Nihar Pandya, when the latter’s sword hit her forehead and she started bleeding profusely. Though it is a serious injury, the actress is unfazed. In fact, Kangana was happy about actually experiencing Rani Laxmibai’s life. She even admits that she was excited about being covered in blood!
Yes, we aren’t kidding! As Kangana Ranaut herself told Mid-Day, “I am a bit embarrassed to be thrilled to have a battle scar on my face. Also, people from my team have been telling me that it’s like that Peshwa teeka that Manikarnika wore. It’s a bit dramatic but I am excited that my face was covered in blood and I got a genuine and authentic glimpse of the Queen’s life.”
From what we hear, Kangana was immediately rushed to the Apollo hospital in Hyderabad, where they were shooting. She was admitted into the ICCU and received 15 stitches on her forehead. A source close to the production house even revealed how the doctor said Kangana was very lucky. Apparently, the sword just missed her bone and she was out of danger. He even added that the cut will leave a scar, but it should heal in a couple of days.
Directed by Krish, Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi tells the tale of Rani Lakshmibai. Kangana has been taking horse riding lessons and sword fighting training for the movie. However, the timing of her duck during the battle sequence with Nihar went wrong and that led to the injury.
