Kasganj violence; Buses, shops torched; tension prevails

The Kasganj violence, sparked off after a ‘Tiranga rally’ on Republic Day, engulfed five buses and three shops which were torched.

Sources claim that even a religious place was vandalized after the youth who lost his life had been cremated.

But tension continued to prevail in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh.

The tense situation prompted authorities to shut school and colleges in the area as a precautionary measure.

Police have arrested so far 50 people in connection with the clashes that emerged.

Companies of RAF, PAC along with police force have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

The district administration again imposed a curfew .

Former state CM Akhilesh Yadav condemned the violence and said that such an incident taking place on Republic Day is highly unfortunate.

Sources claimed men were spotted with petrol bottles near Ghantaghar and Nadrai gate area.
