The Kathmandu airport had to be shut for 12 hour after a Malaysian jet carrying 139 people aborted its take-off and skid instead into the mud.
Though none were hurt in the mishap, the operations at the airport had to be called off till the time the plane was moved.
The incoming flights had to be diverted after Malindo Airlines Boeing 737 went off the runway.
At the time, the jet was speeding down the Tribhuvan International Airport runway.
The jet skidded into the grass and came to a halt in mud about 100 feet (30 metres) from the runway.
It may be known that it is the Nepal’s only international airport.
