Amid the alleged rape of a nun in Kerala, few of the nuns and priests have now taken the matter to the Vatican.
These people affiliated to the Roman Catholic Church have urged the Vatican to do what is right in the case.
They have demanded that suitable action in the case must be taken to ensure justice to the women assoicated with the Church.
It emerged that the letters were written to Giambattista Diquttro, Apostolic Nuncio to India and the Catholic Bishops Conference of India Cardinal Oswald Gracias.
The Church authorities were requested to ensure suitable advise to the Pope Francis in the case.
This may be involve relieving the Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal of his pastoral responsibilities so that the church is seen to actually practice the zero tolerance it professes to observe in abuse cases.
The people who have written to the Church authorities showed their concern on the ensuring the integrity of the Indian church.
They said the “mud slinging” between the bishop and his priests on one hand and the aggrieved sister and her family on the other has turned the church into an object of ridicule.>
