Amid the allegations of police inaction in the Kerala nun rape case, the local police has now filed a memo in the case.
The local police said that Bishop of Jalandhar, Franco Mulakkal, has said that the nun was indeed raped on multiple occasions.
This major revelation comes even as the protesters stage demonstrations outside the Kerala High Court for a sixth consecutive day.
They are demanding Bishop’s immediate arrest.
Dated August 13, the memo covers the findings of a six-member team that went to Jalandhar from Kottayam in order to record evidence in the case.
In their memo, the team of investigating officials stated that a medical examination of the complainant had revealed that her hymen was torn which confirms the act of rape.
This comes after the accused Bishop issued a public statement in which he denied all allegations levelled against him by the 44-year-old nun.
The matter had come to light earlier this year when a nun in Kerala accused the Bishop of Jalandhar, Franco Mulakkal of raping her multiple times between 2014 and 2016 while confining her to a guest room.>
