Police, will oppose the bail plea of bishop Franco Mulakkal in the Kerala High Court today. It is reported that Director General of Prosecution will inform the stand of police before the court during the hearing.
Police will inform the court that he was arrested after collecting strong evidences against him and that the bishop tried to influence the witnesses in the case. Evidences and statements of witnesses will be submitted in a sealed cover before the court.
The details of the cases registered against the bishop’s associates for threatening witnesses will be informed to the court.
Meanwhile, the bishop’s lawyer will assert before the court that his arrest was unnecessary.
“Police should not arrest the bishop when his anticipatory bail plea is under the consideration of the court. But police arrested him, though he cooperated with the interrogation. This is a fabricated case,” alleged the lawyer.>
