Krishi Mela attracting farmers from all over; Nitin Gadkari to participate
It was a surprise visit of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who reached Chhattisgarh capital Raipur suddenly, to be part of the Krishi Mela (Agro Fair).
Speaking on the occasion, Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said that Gantantra (Republic) implies that system needs to work well to be able to benefit the masses.
He said that Krishi Mela is another of the link in that chain and added that farmers are being taught and updated about different kinds of innovation through such innovations.
Agrawal said that there is also an exhibition of the new varieties of paddy that have been prepared by the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya.
There is also attempt to showcase the newest of the equipments that are used now in the modern farming methods, he added.
Minister also noted that Chhattisgarh has now become self-reliant in paddy seeds.
