Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family to meet him today in Pakistan; heres more on whats likely

After much wait, neighboring Pakistan has granted India consular access to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Pakistan is also reportedly allowing the presence of an Indian diplomat during the meeting with his family.

This according to the Pakistan foreign office to local media sources.

However, India does not describe the access to Kulbhushan Jadhav as diplomatic access as has been sought by India over past many months.

It need be mentioned that Jadhav is on a death row in Pakistan for spying and other charges and Indian had the death sentence suspended by approaching the International Court of Justice in Hague.

Pakistani officials have been maintaining that the decision to allow Jadhav to meet his family was taken on “humanitarian grounds”. He made no reference to “consular access”.

Jadhav would be meeting his family today at the foreign office in Islamabad. The exact time of Jadhav’s meeting with his family is not known but officials said it would be around midday or early afternoon.
