Lakhimpur: UP Police Makes First Arrests In The Case

Allahabad High Court Justice (retd) Pradeep Kumar Srivastava has been appointed as a single-member Commission of enquiry with headquarters at Lakhimpur Kheri to probe the incident of violence.

Lakhimpur: The Supreme Court on Thursday sought a status report from the Uttar Pradesh government on the first information report (FIR) registered and arrests made in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, on the other hand, has said that he will go on hunger strike tomorrow if Ajay Mishra Teni’s son is not arrested.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday demanded a probe by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court or a high court into the Lakhimpur Kheri violence and said Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra, whose son is among those booked, should resign to ensure an impartial probe.
