Lalu Yadav to be taken into custody; pronounced guilty in fodder scam
The worst nightmare of the former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav came true on Saturday.
A special CBI court in Ranchi pronounced its verdict in fodder scam.
Lalu Yadav was pronounced as guilty in the case that relates to embezzling of more than Rs. 89 lakh from the Deoghar Treasury between 1991 and 1994.
It need be mentioned that 16 others have been convicted along with Lalu Yadav. However, six others have been acquitted.
RJD supremo will be taken into custody immediately.
It was informed that court will pronounce the sentence on January 3, 2018.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal chief has already been convicted in another fodder scam case that cost him his Lok Sabha seat and disqualified him from contesting elections. Huge crowds gathered outside the Ranchi court ahead of the verdict. >
