Police in California have finally been able to locate the body of the last missing member of an Indian family which perished in a river.
The family is believed to have drowned with their sports utility vehicle into a swollen river in the US state of California over a week ago.
Identified as Thottapilly family, they had gone missing in early April while driving in through the redwood highway on vacation, as per police account.
But the family later went missing and their disappearance coincided with reports that a vehicle had sunk into the Eel river in the state.
Police have been searching ever since and have so far found the body of Siddhant Thottapilly, 12.
Sandeep Thottapilly, 41, and Saachi Thottapilly, 9, were found dead inside a vehicle encased in sediment in the Eel River, local police said.
The vehicle was encased in sediment and visibility was poor but divers believed there was at least one body inside, officials said.>
