Lata Mangeshkar’s throwback pictures goes viral on Twitter, See Pics

Lata Mangeshkar did something way ahead of us.

Lata Mangeshkar, never fails to amaze us with her sense of humour. She is active occasionally on Twitter and puts up throwback pictures that go viral in no time.

The lady on Monday put up a picture of her reading a book from her younger days. She said it was a self-clicked picture and hence a selfie. The picture was clicked somewhere in the 1950’s, an era where cameras were not even as advanced as they are now.

Besides singing, photography is something that has always interested Lata Mangeshkar. She has a collection of cameras as well. We know how grief-stricken she was when famous celebrity photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha.

Lata Mangeshkar was also deeply saddened by the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She told, “He was like my father. He called me Beti. I called him Dadda. I feel I’ve lost my father all over again.” In 2014, she did an entire album based on his poems.

She told , “I still remember the album was officially released in his home in Delhi. We had flown down for the occasion. All the poems in the album we entitled ‘Antarnaad’ were handpicked by me and my composer Mayuresh Pai.

We then flew to Delhi to get his approval. When Atalji saw the poems we had selected he was very happy, specially with ‘Geet naya gata hoon’, which was among his personal favourites.”
