Raipur. Leading Industrialist and philanthropist OP Jindal, who gave mantra of self-reliance in the progress of the nation, was remembered today on his 90th birth anniversary at JSPL Machinery Division, Raipur under full vigil in view of the outbreak of Covid19 epidemic and wreaths and tributes were paid to the statue of Shri OP Jindal complying with the social distancing norms. Fruits and ration were distributed here on the occasion in old age home.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers mentioned their contribution in nation building and said that Mr. OP Jindal had dreamt of self-sufficiency of the country and he gave such an institution to the nation as OP Jindal Group on the strength of indigenous resources and indigenous technology, Which today is playing a leading role in the fields of steel, energy, mining, infrastructure, education, technical education, health and employment.
Born on 7 March 1930 in an ordinary farmer family of Nalwa village in Hisar district, Haryana, Mr.OP Jindal touched heights in various walks of life. He was a successful industrialist, dedicated philanthropist as well as MP and Power minister of Haryana. He was also awarded the title of “The Man of Steel”. His thinking about the country was, “If India is to become a leading nation, then we will have to become self-reliant industrially and be equal to developed nations in technology as well.”
