Legal action in fake cases to be taken under Cooperative Act and IPC Sections

The process of pasting the list of farmers of fixed cutoff date (Regular Outstanding Loan or Term Loan) under Jai Kisan Crop Loan Waiver Scheme is being done in the gram panchayats of the state since January 15, 2019. The last date for filing the application form under the scheme is 5 February, 2019.

It has come to the knowledge of the state government that fake crop loan cases have been made without the knowledge of concerned farmers in certain primary Agriculture Cooperative Credit Societies. Giving this information Principal Secretary, Farmer-Welfare and Agriculture Development Dr. Rajesh Rajoura said that such cases will fall under the category of serious crime. Disciplinary legal action will be ensured against all the guilty under various sections of Cooperative Act and IPC.

The state government has come to know that while filling the application forms under the scheme, the farmers have found that the loan amount showing in their loan accounts in the list displayed in the gram panchayat has either not been taken by them or the actual amount taken by them is much less than the amount showing in the list.

Dr. Rajoura has urged Principal Secretary, Revenue to be cautious while confirming the information of data of application forms, entries on portal, secured login in bank branches and information of loan accounts and inspect the cases minutely.

Dr. Rajoura has said that information of such potential bogus crop loan cases should be obtained from all the districts after the last date of filing the application on February 5, 2019 and fix the process and time-limit of their probe.
