Covid-19 Update: We had earlier reported in the morning that legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this month, continues to be stable and is maintaining normal oxygen saturation. Now, the latest is that the acclaimed singer is in critical condition and has been shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The hospital’s statement read, “There has been a setback in the health of Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare for symptoms for Covid-19 since 5th August 2020. In a late night development on 13th August 2020, his condition had deteriorated and based on the advice of the expert medical team attending him, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he is on life support and his condition remains critical.”
“He is currently under observation by the team of experts from critical care and his haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored,” added the statement.
Earlier on August 5, SP Balasubrahmanyam opened about testing positive for Covid-19 after showing mild symptoms. He also got admitted in hospital despite being advised home quarantine, considering the health of people around him at home. The legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam is an exceptional artist whose career spans more than five decades and we wish him a speedy recovery.
