Madhya Pradesh: Campaigning ends for byelections to 28 assembly seats

In Madhya Pradesh, campaign for byelections to 28 assembly constituencies ended yesterday evening. Polling will be held between 7 am and 6 pm tomorrow. All arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polling.

In Madhya Pradesh, campaign for byelections to 28 assembly constituencies ended yesterday evening. Polling will be held between 7 am and 6 pm tomorrow. All arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polling.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Tomar informed that polling will be held on November 3, following the Covid-19 guidelines and with proper security arrangements. Eighty four companies of the Central Police Force have been deployed at the polling centers. Two thousand 500 SAF jawans, 10 thousand personnel of district police force, 7 thousand home guard and 10 thousand special police officers have been deployed.

Postal ballots have already been issued for Divyang voters. Arrangements for assistants and wheelchairs have also been made at polling stations for them. 355 candidates are in the fray in these elections. Out of these, there are 22 female candidates while 333 are male. Maximum 38 candidates are in Mehgaon seat of Morena district while the minimum 3 candidates are in Badnawar seat of Dhar district.
