Madhya Pradesh forms cabinet committee to provide reservation to economically weaker sections

The state government has formed a cabinet committee to decide the process of implementation as regard to the provision made under the 103rd Constitutional Amendment to provide 10 percent reservation to the economically weaker sections in educational institutions and government jobs.

The Minister for Co-operatives, Parliamentary Affairs and General Administration Dr. Govind Singh has been made Chairman of the committee.

The Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics Minister Shri Tarun Bhanot and Minister for Narmada Valley Development and Tourism Minister Shri Surendra Singh Baghel have been made members of the committee.

The Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department has been made the convener of the committee.

The committee will present its report to the state government within a month after holding discussion with various stakeholders.
