A new record of maximum demand for electricity was made on December 26 in Madhya Pradesh. For the first time in history of power sector, the maximum demand for electricity in one day was recorded at 13 thousand 740 mega watt.
There has been no electricity disruption anywhere in the state. The maximum demand for electricity since two days is being recorded above 13 thousand 700 MW.
New records of maximum demand for power were made in October, November and December this Rabi season. Last year, the maximum demand for electricity was recorded on December 28, 2017 at 12 thousand 240 MW.
On October 31, in the current Rabi season, the maximum demand for electricity was recorded at 12 thousand 268 MW after this record was withdrawn. After this, in November and December, the maximum demand for electricity became a new record.
The maximum demand for power in the state was recorded on December 24 at 13 thousand 640 MW, on December 25 at 13 thousand 642 MW, the maximum demand for electricity on December 26 was 13 thousand 740 MW and on December 27 also it was registered above 13 thousand 700 MW.
State power companies are ready to supply more than 14 thousand MW of power demand.
The maximum demand made for electricity in West Zone Power Distribution Company (Indore and Ujjain Divisions) was 5,207 MW, 4,736 MW in Central Region Distribution Company (Bhopal and Gwalior Division) and 3,797 MW in Eastern Region Power Distribution Company (Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa Division).
On December 26, when the demand for power was recorded at 13 thousand 740 MW, power was obtained from the power generating company’s thermal and hydro power house, Indira Sagar-Sardar Sarovar-Omkareshwar hydropower project, NTPC (Central Sector), Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project, IPP, power banking and other sources.>
