Madhya Pradesh seeks early release of pending payments of MNREGA

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Kamleshwar Patel today called on the Union Rural Development Minister, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi.

Apprising the Union Minister about the achievements of MNREGA scheme in the state, Shri Patel urged him to release of wage payment of Rs. 306 crore pending with the Centre, Rs. 465 crore for the remaining period of the financial year and the release of Rs. 356 crore under commodity head.

Done Union Minister Shri Tomar assured to release maximum amount to Madhya Pradesh.

Minister Shri Patel also held discussions with Secretary Rural Development Shri Amarjit Sinha, Joint Secretary Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Smt. Alka Upadhyay and Joint Secretary Pradhan Mantri Awas Shri Prashant Kumar.

He urged for release of MNREGA amount, promoting convergence in Rural Livelihood Mission and giving priority to employment opportunities to self-help groups. Lauding the employment fairs he also spoke about actual placements.

In view of the good performance of the state in the Pradhan Manrti Awas Yojana, Minister Shri Patel has urged to increase the target and increase the cost of the scheme in the hilly regions of the state.

He also urged for approval of 55 huge bridges and release of centre’s share of funds in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
