Maha Bus fell into Panchganga river; so far over dozen killed

In an unfortunate incident that took place in Kolhapur (Maharashtra), more than dozen people are feared killed when a minibus fell into Panchganaga river.

Reports indicate that the bus accident took place at around 12 noon.

The vehicle was carrying families on return from popular picnic destination of Ganpatipule.

So far the deceased who have been identified include three men, three women and seven children, including a nine-month baby.

It is said that the speeding minibus met with the accident while on Shivaji Bridge of Panchganga river when its driver lost control of the vehicle and eventually the bus fell into the river.

Police and fire brigade rushed to the spot as an onlooker alerted the Kolhapur police about the incident.

Some of the injured were rushed to the hospital.

All the passengers hailed from Balewadi in Pune.
