Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that in the last 24 hours a record 5,071 persons were discharged from various hospitals in the state after being successfully treated for COVID19 infection. Of these as many as 4,242 patients were discharged in the Mumbai region alone. The state has registered the record number for the second time in the last 15 days and with this the total number of patients discharged in the state now stands at 56,049.
AIR correspondent reports, the Minister informed that a fortnight ago, as many as 8,381 patients across the state were discharged in a single day and since then the number of patients treated successfully and sent home has been satisfactory. He added that after 15 days, the feat was achieved again.
Of the 5071 patients discharged in last 24 hours, 4,242 patients are from Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) (total till date stands at 39,976), from Pune region 568 ( total patients discharged is 8430 while from Nashik region 100 were discharged and the total now stands at 2365. Since the first COVID19 patient was found in state 3 months ago, the recovery rate has now reached 47.2 pc.
