It is being seen as yet another snub as Maldives has now asked the Indian government to take back its Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv.
This comes after the Male had recently refused participation in the Indian Naval exercises with many countries participating.
It need be mentioned that the two naval helicopters had been gifted by New Delhi to the Indian Ocean archipelago.
Maldives government sources claim that they wanted a Dornier maritime surveillance aircraft instead.
This also comes amid the China making deep inroads into the strategically located country with its connectivity and other infrastructure projects.
Laamu in southern Maldives is a sensitive location as that’s where China is said to be considering building a port.
