After a Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) raid, a Delhi-based jeweller allegedly committed suicide after jumping off the sixth floor of DRI building.
The incident took place in the national capital and it is said that a raid had earlier been carried out at his store and residence in the city.
While the jeweler has been identified as Gaurav Gupta and was found lying in a pool of blood after jumping off the building, he was immediately shifted to Safdarjung Hospital but he was declared brought dead.
According to the DRI officials, the man was neither summoned nor arrested after the raid.
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the case.
But the DRI also released saying that a total of Rs. 13 crore smuggled goods were seized from Gaurav Gupta’s possession.
