Mandi Students Have Gained the Top Three Positions in the IEEE

IAS Student thesis Contest 2020

Indian Institute of Technology Mandi students have gained top three positions in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Industry Application Society (IEEE – IAS) Student Thesis Contest 2020 under the Non – PhD Category.

Virendra Singh, alumni of IIT Mandi who completed his MTech in Power Electronics and Drives in 2019, has gained the first position for his MTech. thesis on ‘Integrated On-board Battery Charger for Plug-in Electric Vehicles’, guided by Dr Narsa Reddy Tummuru, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Bharat Singh Rajpurohit, Associate Professor, School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT Mandi.

Nikhil Tanaji Doiphode, alumni of IIT Mandi, who completed his MTech. in Energy Engineering with a specialisation in Materials in 2019, has gained the second position for his MTech thesis on ‘Stator Winding Fault Diagnosis in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor’, guided by Dr. Bharat Singh Rajpurohit, Associate Professor, School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT Mandi.

Gaurav Gautam, alumni of IIT Mandi, who completed his M. Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives in 2019, has gained the third position for his MTech. thesis on ‘Acoustic Noise and Vibration Reduction in PMSM Drive’ guided by Dr. Bharat Singh Rajpurohit, Associate Professor, School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT Mandi.
