Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has shown greater concern to promote religious tolerance and suggested that the Human Resource Development ministry to include books of all religions in the school curriculum.
He said that it is also essential that moral classes are arranged towards this objective.
The Union Minister made the suggestion at the 65th meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) recently.
It is by the way highest decision making body in the education sector.
Among other suggestions that were made in the meeting included having vegetarian menu for mid-day meals served in schools or saying ‘Jai Hind’ during school attendance.>
