Mani Shankar Aiyar makes statement in Karachi; Congress leaders here in India worry about fall out
Yet another statement from Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has alarmed at least a few Congress leaders.
One such leader is former lawmaker Hanumantha Rao who has said that he would write to party president Rahul Gandhi requesting him to expel Mani Shankar Aiyar.
It need be mentioned that Aiyar has once again provoked by stating in Karachi that while most political parties in Pakistan want cordial relations with India, those in India are “still caught in a partially 1947 situation”.
He had earlier caused quite a stir in Indian polity after making the “neech” slur against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
His comments came two days after Pakistan-based terrorists attacked an Army camp in Jammu killing five soldiers and one civilian and injured 10 people.
It need be mentioned that India has asserted that Pakistan will pay for its misadventures.
Congress leader Hanumantha Rao worried that Aiyar’s remarks can cause severe damage to the party for the long term.>
