A new still from Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has just been released along with the announcement that the teaser of the film would be released on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October instead of Independence Day as earlier speculated. The picture shows Kangana Ranaut as the regal Rani Laxmibai against the backdrop of Lord Ganpati.

The film has been much in news recently for delays in shooting the budget of Manikarnika has reportedly escalated from Rs 60 crore to Rs 125 crore, Kangana taking over the reins from director Krish and co-star Sonu Sood abandoning the project due to differences with her.
The cast also includes Ankita Lokhande, Suresh Oberoi, and Bengali actor Jisshu Sengupta among others.
