Mass shooting in Pittsburgh targets Jews, seven killed and many injured

storming came about on Saturday where he shot worshipers during ongoing Shabbat services.

In what could only be described as a dastardly attack on people of Jewish faith, a man armed with a semiautomatic assault-style rifle stormed the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.

The storming came about on Saturday where he shot worshipers during ongoing Shabbat services.

The firing killed eleven and has so far there are reports of another 11 who are injured.

It is being dubbed by the American media as deadliest attack on Jews in the history of the United States.

Without doubt, the mass shooting targeted members of a synagogue that is an anchor of Pittsburgh’s large and close-knit Jewish community.

The authorities that began probe into the incident have begun by labeling it as a hate crime.

So far the authorities have been able to identify the attacker as Robert Bowers, 46, a Pittsburgh resident.

But the accused in all probability has not crossed with the law enforcement agencies.

Police received calls about an active shooter at 9:54 a.m. and dispatched officers a minute later.

Political, religious and civic leaders condemned Saturday’s massacre and vowed to support the Jewish community.

President Donald Trump denounced the massacre and said something needs to be done about such crimes.
