An expansionist BJP may be making more parties nervous even in South of India as the MDMK said it has decided to have an alliance with the DMK and its allies.
The political alliance will also look to defeat incumbent AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.
A resolution to this effect was passed at the party’s state-level conference in Erode of Tamil Nadu.
The occasion was also to celebrate the 50th year of the MDMK chief Vaiko’s entry into politics.
Another resolution opposed the Karnataka government’s proposal to construct a dam across Cauvery in Karnataka.
MDMK also wanted the Centre to implement the 27 per cent reservation for students belonging to the Backward Class in all Central government-run schools.
Earlier, a resolution condoled the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.>
