Mehul Choksi writes to CBI; expressing why he can’t join probe as of now

He said that he had to work extremely hard due to situation arising

Gitanjali Gems promoter and jeweller Mehul Choksi, who is also a co-accused in the Rs 12,700 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud, has written another letter to the probe agency CBI.

The latest correspondence said that the manner in which the allegations have been exaggerated against him has left him completely defenseless and further intensified his fears for his safety.

The letter has been dated March 16 where Choksi said he was extremely busy with his businesses abroad.

He said that he had to work extremely hard due to situation arising out of unnecessary closure of business in India.

It need be recalled that earlier this month itself, the CBI wrote another letter to accused Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi telling them that they are obliged to join the investigation.
