Modi Cabinet Reshuffle: Rejig with 2019 poll in mind

Amongst the most prominent guiding factor to decide the new entries into the union cabinet would be 2019 central poll. It is in this context that new allies may also be given prominent positions just to strengthen the National Democratic Alliance in these states including Tamil Nadu and Bihar.

Certain BJP sources opined that party would also like to now focus on states where it lacks substantial posture like Odisha and few other non-Hindi states. So far three union ministers have resigned, including senior BJP leaders Uma Bharti and Rajiv Pratap Rudy. The reshuffle is most likely to take place on Saturday evening. More ministers are expected to quit to make way for new faces as the ruling BJP prepares for a series of state elections and then the 2019 national election when PM Modi will seek a second term in office.
