More girls emerge as rape victims, in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur shelter home case

So far police has nabbed ten out of 11 accused.

In more embarrassment for the Bihar government, it has now emerged that the total number of girls who have been raped in the shelter home has gone up to 34.

The medical reports have confirmed sexual activity of the girls.

It is said that the girls were administered sedatives before being raped.

Earlier, medical examinations of 29 of the 42 inmates of the shelter home in Muzaffarpur district confirmed that they were raped for months.

So far police has nabbed ten out of 11 accused.

This is when the Bihar government has caved into pressure from the opposition and recommeded for CBI probe.

The police filed a chargesheet against the ten who were arrested.

The sexual assault at the state-run home came to light after Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences submitted a report.

The report was based on conversations with several girls at the home which was meant to be their shelter.

RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav also demanded the resignation of two ministers whose names have cropped up in the case.
