MP Guv says parents should teach children to stay away from violence

Governor attends Sarva Dharma Prathna Sabha on Gandhi Jayanti

Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said at Sarvadharma Prathna Sabha held on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, that parents and teachers should make children culturally strong by teaching them to stay away from violence, to lead life with love and brotherhood and to render services to nation and society.

She further mentioned that children should be apprised in detail by taking them on tour of the places, which has been visited by the Mahtama Gandhi.

Smt. Patel stated that Mahatma Gandhi used to lay emphasis on cleanliness. The Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan has been launched by our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

We can realise the dream of Bapu, if we together participate in this campaign. She further said that philosophy and ideals of Mahtama Gandhi are source for every person to lead a successful life. She made children take resolution for saving water.

Recollecting the events of her life, the Governor mentioned that we should not hesitate in helping poor and slum dwellers.

People will follow us when we ourselves will advance to give meals to the starved persons and take steps for children education. She said Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel has played an important role in Swaraj Andolan of Gandhi Ji.

The Secretary of Gandhi Bhavan Trust Shri Dayaram Namdeo said that it is need of the hour that ideals, principles and teachings of Gandhi Ji should be spread from village to village.

He further mentioned that we will have make citizens self reliant by promoting village and cottage industry.

The Governor Smt. Patel paid tribute to the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding the statue with soot mala.

She also distributed prizes among the winner students of painting and essay competition related to Gandhi Jayanti.
