Much of north India reeling under cold wave conditions, know more

With fresh snowfall in Kashmir valley, many parts of Punjab and Haryana reeled under cold weather conditions.

It is learnt that Karnal recorded the coldest place in the region at 2.4 degrees Celsius.

Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of both the states, witnessed its minimum at 5.6 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT department said Wednesday.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala braved cold conditions at 3.6, 4.1 and 4.1 degrees Celsius respectively, up to two degrees below normal.

Pathankot, Halwara, Adampur, Gurdaspur, Bathinda and Faridkot

recorded their respective lows at 5.6, 4.2, 3, 4.7, 3 and 3 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar, and Narnaul experienced cold weather conditions at 4.8, 3.7 and 3.5 degrees Celsius respectively, up to three degrees below normal.

Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded their respective lows at 4.8, 6.5 and 5.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
