Mumbai police have arrested a man for allegedly hitting an app based cab service driver.

The Antop hill police claimed that the driver has been hit on the head with an iron rod.

The scuffle broke out for not driving him to the destination of his choice.

The accused has been identified as Rakesh Thalakkat, who was arrested on charges of assault.

Police have said that the victim is Sharukh Engineer (46), who drives Uber cab service.

Police said that on Monday night, the driver dropped a passenger at Wadala only to return to his Andheri residence.

As per the complaint of the victim, a woman got in from Antop Hill as she had booked the ride with Kalina as destination.

As she got in, she insisted on being dropped off at Dombivli,, the plaint adds.

It is when the driver refused that the she called up a man who was with her while she was getting in.

It is then that the man not only threatened her but also got an iron rod from his car and hit him on the head.

The Antop Hill police station tracked down Thalakkat on the basis of his mobile number and arrested him on charges of assault.
