Muslim family alleges 51 cows ‘snatched’ for no reason, police denies

A Muslim family in Alwar (Rajasthan) is desperate and also confused that its flock of 51 cows have been snatched by the police and handed over to village cow-care center.

The action was carried out by police on the complaint of some Hindu activists.

The family has been alleging over past week that the police took their livestock forcibly and said that all their complaints have fallen on so far deaf ears.

None from the local administration have also come forward to redress their grievances.

Interestingly though, the police has rejected the family’s allegations and said that they had no role in it, They claim that the villagers drove the cows to the gaushala.

The family belong to the Meo community. It need be recalled that just six months ago, a 55-year-old dairy farmer Pehlu Khan, who also belonged to Meo community, was lynched in Alwar by cow vigilantes over suspicion of carrying beef.
