Naga assembly poll; NPF and BJP to work out seat sharing
With election to the 60-member Nagaland assembly due by February 27, the ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the BJP have agreed to work towards evolving a seat sharing arrangement.
This was informed by Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang said on Friday.
He said that he had met BJP chief Amit Shah and thus the agreement was worked out.
The alliance would continue in the state, he said, and reposed confidence that the alliance will form government post election.
The vote counting for the assembly will be held on March 3 of this year.
It was on Tuesday that the Central Executive Council (CEC) of the NPF reviewed its earlier decision and decided to resume its ties with the BJP and also go to the assembly polls with TR Zeliang as its Chief Ministerial candidate.>
