New World Record on number of participation
Raipur:Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh led the 3rd International Yoga Day event during morning hours to make a unique record in the state. Along with Chief Minister around 50 lakh people at different places participated in practicing yoga postures. State recorded event at 11,000 places with participation of school children, elders, youth and women along with other community members.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at Indoor Stadium situated before Budhatalab (Vivekananda Sarovar) of Raipur capital city along with 600 school children for an hour participated in the yoga practice. Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission chairman Sanjay Agrawal organized the Yoga practice session.
As per details a new unique record was set where 50 lakh people in state did yoga practice which has been recorded in Golden Book of World Record. Observer of Golden Book of World Record Santosh Agrawal handed over the certificate to Chief Minister. Several public representatives and senior officials of government and administration also registered their participation.
Addressing the gathering after the event, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that with healthy mind and body, Healthy Chhattisgarh and Country is possible. It is a historical day for State of Chhattisgarh when around 50 lakh people together in state has at different places practiced yoga together. He adds, Yoga should be added as a daily part of life. We should take oath to do yoga 365 days. One should stick at the resolution of doing yoga on daily basis.
Dr Singh said that today around 600 school children had participated in yoga practice. They would motivate their parents and others to do yoga. Today, in the world, including the country, International Yoga Day is being celebrated. The credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had promoted the Indian ethos of ancient yoga education, science-knowledge and culture at world level. It is the proposal of Prime Minister before the United Nations where 193 countries supported the proposal and recognized the contribution of India for yoga education. It was then declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day.
On the occasion, he also thanked the Patanjali Yoga Peeth founder Yoga Guru Baba Ramdeo for making it popular among the people. Chief Minister felicitated the Yoga trainers of Patanjali Yogpeeth trainers by giving them memento.
Golden Book of World Record observer Santosh Agrawal said that a company based in USA had made the record of doing yoga together, with 1800 people. Last year at Durg, in Chhattisgarh the record was one lakh people at same venue. Today in Chhattisgarh state at 11,000 venues around 50 lakh people set a record of doing yoga together.
Raipur Member of Parliament Ramesh Bai, MLAs Satyanarayan Sharma, Shrichand Sunderani, R K Rai and Bhojraj Nag, Raipur Development Authority chairman Sanjay Shrivastava, state chief secretary Vivek Dhand, Director General of Police A N Upadhayay, School education secretary Vikassheel, social welfare department secretary Sonmani Borah along with large number of public representatives and senior officials participated in the yoga practice.
Handing over the certificate to Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Golden Book of World Record observer Santosh Agrawal said that the data of community yoga practice session is provisional. The final data would be issued by the organization in a day or two.
