The Union Ministry for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has announced the initiation of the application process for ‘National Water Awards-2018’.
Disclosing this, a spokesman of the Punjab Government said that a total of 18 awards would be given in 13 categories.
The spokesman further said that those Government organisations, NGOs or the individuals have made significant contributions towards water conservation as well as management, are eligible to submit applications for different categories till 30th November, 2018.
Adding more, the spokesman said that under the National Water Awards-2018, the awards pertaining to Best State, Best District, Best Municipal Corporation/Council, Best Panchayat, Best TV Show and Newspaper would be given.
For the purpose of submitting applications concerning these awards, the Central Ground Water Board has been made the Nodal agency.

The spokesman also said that the rationale behind these awards is to spread awareness regarding the conservation of water which is the most precious bounty bestowed by nature on the mankind.>
