Naxals shoot dead Andhra lawmaker Kidari Rao, heres what happened

The naxals are being blamed for shooting dead an Andhra Pradesh lawmaker only this morning.

The incident took place in Visakhapatnam district.

The lawmaker has been identified as Kidari Sarveswara Rao, who is the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member from Araku Valley.

The lawmaker, as per reports, died on the spot.

The naxals also attacked the former lawmaker Shivari Soma.

Soma was however taken to the hospital.

At the time of attack, both Kidari Rao and Shivari Soma were attending an event in Livitiput, 15 km from Araku Valley.

A large number of Maoists allegedly participated in the attack, as per news reports.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is in the US, has offered his condolences to Rao’s family.

According to the police, both of them had received threats from Maoists in the past.
