A day after the naxals were able to blast the farmhouse of the ruling BJP’s Member of Parliament Vikram Usendi in Chhattisgarh, the rebels have yet again struck the security forces.
In the latest attack, a pressure bomb that had been planted by the insurgents went off in which a jawan got martyred.
The jawan is said to be of CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit.
Sources confirmed that the blast may have happened early morning close to Puswada village when a road opening party of the 206th battalion of CoBRA was on patrol.
It need be mentioned that CoBRA is specialized unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to counter insurgency menace.
The martyred CRPF personnel has been identified as Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar.
It is said that a constable Manik Tinpare also sustained minor injuries in the blast.
The road opening party had launched the operation between Timilwada to Dornapal.
After the incident, the security forces have launched a manhunt across the area to try and nab the insurgents.>
