NDA govt hurting domestic industry by doing away with Anti Dumping Duty on Soda Ash, Ceramic Industry, alleges Congress

Congress has alleged that NDA government is hurting domestic industry by doing away with Anti Dumping Duty on Soda Ash and Ceramic Industry. Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil said the UPA government had in 2012 imposed anti dumping duty on companies based abroad in soda ash in order to save the domestic industry.

He said the term of the Anti Dumping notification ends in July this year but the NDA government is refusing to extend it for another five years.

Gohil said the domestic industries will be ruined if soda ash is allowed to be dumped from China, Pakistan, and the US. He demanded that Anti Dumping Duty on soda ash and ceramic industry should be increased.
