Terming his participation in the Nariman House event with 11-yr-old Moshe and meeting with the Mumbai Jewish community as some of the most memorable moments of his India trip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that his trip to India further solidified the bilateral ties.
It need be mentioned that Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in New Delhi on January 14 and was received by his “friend” Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who broke protocol to meet him at the airport.
Netanyahu was briefing his cabinet on the India trip when he made these statements.
During the six day trip, India and Israel signed nine agreements across several sectors to boost bilateral trade and cooperation.
He specifically mentioned the meeting with the Jewish community based in Mumbai and said that though very small numbers have stayed back in India after Israel came into existence, their contribution in the Indian society is immense.
He also noted that there has never been any trace of anti-semitism in India and the Jewish community of India just hope for meeting between cultures and between states and peoples.
