Railways has floated a new toilet policy where in condoms and sanitary pads would now be sold at toilet facilities both inside and outside railway stations.
This would not only be made available for the passengers but also the people living in its vicinity.
The new toilet policy recently had recently been approved by the Railway Board said.
The policy was mandated, as per reports, due to lack of sanitation facilities which forced those living in the vicinity to defecate in the open.
The new policy is likely to help them provide proper facilities.
The new policy, it was said, would be implemented at all 8,500 stations through CSR funds from different corporations.
In so far as the maintenance is concerned, it would be done through advertisements/CSR, going by the policy statement.>
