In a major setback to the state government of Chhattisgarh, it is now known that the National Investigation Agency has refused handing over the Jhiram Ghati naxal massacre case to the SIT.
The SIT had been instituted by the Chhattisgarh government after Congress came about in power.
The information was shared by none less than Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel himself.
The NIA decision pretty much comes as a jolt to the state government and its efforts for a probe into the conspiracy angle of the massacre that wiped out the state leadership of the then Congress.
CM Bhupesh Baghel termed it to be stand from the central government.
He also spoke a letter received from the central government wherein the NIA had communicated its stand on the crucial issue.
CM Bhupesh Baghel once again reiterated that many of the angles of the probe had been left out for which this SIT had been formed.
He said that the stand taken by the central government further raises suspicion that something really is fishy in the whole of the episode.
