NSUI stages protest against metro fare hike; are cab companies to benefit from decision?

National Students Union of India (NSUI),student wing of Congress, staged protest at the Vishwavidyalaya station of the Delhi Metro and demanded that fare hike of the metro rail is unfair. The protestors even climbed down on the metro tracks causing disruption in the service for quite some time. The protestors raised slogans against state government led by Aam Admi Party as well as central government. It need be mentioned that government is prepared to hike the metro fare by October 10. Meanwhile, even Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has registered opposition to the proposed hike in fares but the central government is prepared to go ahead with it.

It is said that the metro fare hike would directly benefit the many cab companies operating in the national capital.
