NWC to question BHU V-C Tripathi on violence in campus, other plaints

National Women's Commission appears to have toughened

National Women’s Commission appears to have toughened its stance on the many complaints that were being made by the girl students with regard to Benaras Hindu University (BHU) campus. The NWC has asked the BHU Vice-Chancellor GC Tripathi to appear before the commission by Friday in any case or it will be forced to issue summons.

The NWC Chairperson Rekha Sharma inspected the BHU campus and reportedly have received complaints of not only molestation and teasing but also gender discrimination. Sharma said that probe into BHU violence will also continue unabated.
