OBI distances itself from Cambridge Analytica controversy; Indian company issues statement

now being said that OBI is owned by Ambrish Tyagi, son of senior Janata Dal United leader KC Tyagi

Even as the Congress and BJP are trading charges over who is availing services of the now controversial data analytics company Cambridge Analytics, a Ghaziabad-based Ovelina Business Intelligence (OBI) also has now come in spotlight.

It is now being said that OBI is owned by Ambrish Tyagi, son of senior Janata Dal United leader KC Tyagi.

It may be known that OBI is the Indian arm of SCL London, which is the parent company of Cambridge Analytica.

With the controversy now growing in India as well, the company in a statement issued on Thursday said, “We at Ovleno Business Intelligence completely believe in ethics and legal system of India, we are not denying our association with SCL/Cambridge Analytica, but we are a ground research company closely working with various media houses and not undertake any project with CA related to social media (specially Facebook).”

It is speculated now that perhaps OBI has closed down its Indirapuram office and also took down its official website which claimed BJP, Congress and JD(U) as its clients.
