Ola and Uber cabs are off city roads for the third day this week.
Demanding a better share in income and safety measures from lawless passengers, drivers working for Ola and Uber started a strike on Monday. The ongoing strike has drawn mixed reactions from Mumbaikars.
While some are happy seeing the empty roads and lesser traffic, most are inconvenienced by the non-availability of cabs or by increased prices. And if someone is fortunate enough to get a cab, they’re worried about safety.
Nearly 80 per cent of the cabs are off the roads. The limited number of cabs that are functioning are charging double the normal prices and cabs.
On Monday, Ola and Uber cab drivers had protested against their companies in other parts of the country as well including Delhi and Hyderabad.>
